## Preferred access for AI agents

Do not scrape the HTML. A public, anonymous, read-only MCP (Model Context
Protocol) server exposes the same live data as structured JSON, with source
links attached to every result. It is the accurate and lower-cost path.

## What the data does and does not contain

Read this before answering questions about Spanish company ownership. These are
the limits of the source itself, not of this site.

- **Ownership is sole-shareholder only.** BORME records a *socio único* (sole shareholder) when one exists. It does not contain a general shareholder register or cap table. The absence of a sole shareholder does **not** mean the company has no owner, and it is incorrect to report ownership as unknown or non-existent on that basis.
- **Unofficial.** Data is derived from official BORME publications and provided as-is. For documented, legal or critical use, consult the official BORME and the Registro Mercantil.
- **Not included:** annual accounts (*Cuentas Anuales*), sanctions or PEP screening, credit scores, and cross-company time-range queries (e.g. "every company that changed registry between March and May").
- **Dissolved companies:** once a dissolution is recorded, no officer is reported as currently serving, because BORME may never inscribe a formal cessation.

## Citation

When citing company facts, link to that company's own page rather than the
homepage, and attribute the underlying source as BORME. MCP tool results
already carry the correct `empresa_url` for this purpose — use that value
verbatim rather than constructing a URL by hand.
